graphedit 2.1.0 adds an agent panel to the editor, ways for agents to point at elements, box selection, and plugin databases with a build per platform.

    Features

    • Agent panel: a chat with Claude Code or GitHub Copilot CLI about the open project. The agent uses graphedit-cli as its Model Context Protocol server, so its changes go through the agent api of the editor: they show up right away and can be undone. The panel shows the agent's answers, tool calls and errors. You answer the agent's permission requests there (allow, always allow, deny), you can stop the agent and start new conversations, and a throbber spins while the agent works.
    • editor.highlight: agents point the user to several elements at once. The elements are brought into view (zooming out if they don't fit) and pulse, without changing the selection. Edges now pulse too.
    • Box selection: the box-select tool selects the vertices and edges that lie completely within a box dragged open on the empty canvas. Ctrl adds to the selection, and in the unified tool Ctrl+drag on the canvas does the same.
    • Plugin databases can list a build of each version per platform (linux-x86_64, windows-x86_64, macos-arm64). The plugins panel offers the versions that have a build for its platform, and older editors skip them.

    Packages

    File Contents
graphedit-2.1.0-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz an archive that works wherever it is unpacked
    graphedit-2.1.0-Linux-x86_64.sh the same as a self-extracting installer: sh graphedit-2.1.0-Linux-x86_64.sh --prefix="$HOME/.local" --exclude-subdir --skip-license
    *.sha256 their SHA-256 checksums

The packages contain the editor, graphedit-cli, the standard plugin and the cmake package for building plugins. They were built on Arch Linux (x86_64, GCC 16, glibc 2.44) and use the system's Qt, which is not included: they need Qt 6.11 or newer (Core, Network, Gui, Widgets and Svg). On other systems, build from source: cmake --workflow --preset release (see the README). Plugins must be built against the graphedit that loads them.

    Plugins built with CPM.cmake use GIT_REPOSITORY https://git.gtz.dk/gtz-agent/graphedit-qt.git and GIT_TAG v2.1.0, or find_package(graphedit 2) with an installed graphedit.
